The DRM club takes Coggins testing very seriously. Identifying EIA carriers in our communities is an important tool for protecting our equines from infection. However, despite efforts to get testing done prior to our first ride, there are reported delays in getting results back from the lab. Thankfully, the risk of transmission due to biting insects at this time of year is very low. Because of this, DRM has opted to waive the requirement for Coggins testing for our BHP ride May 4-5. We encourage all riders to exercise caution by using fly protection as necessary. Proof of negative Coggins tests will be required at the remainder of our rides.
